07 Nov Day 8: Grow your support group
Daily Focus: Grow your support group. Introduce yourself to the Worthwild Healthy Habits Squad Facebook Group (5 points).
As easy as it is to hate on the internet, there are many things the internet can do; my favorite of all is that it brings people together. We all live in different areas of the state (or the world) and we are here for the same purpose – to love ourselves a little harder and make our lives as kickass as possible. Most of you know who I am or came here because you are a friend of one of my friends (which, in my opinion means your are a wonderful person) and I would like to get to know you a little bit better. I know introductions can feel kind of lame, and cheesy and all the awkward things – but let me tell you, I have met some of my favorite people in the WORLD by meeting them on the internet. (Yeah, I hear it. That sounds lame too, but let me explain. 🙂
In 2015, I started Worthwild as a remote training resource center. I took on a few clients (friends and friends of friends) and for a time only knew them online. Through those online interactions, those relationships blossomed into very fulfilling, supportive friendships. When I graduated June 2017 as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I started teaching nutritional classes (RESTART®) online. Some of my very first students have turned into pillars of support for my business and for me personally; some becoming my very best friends. (A few of them are apart of this challenge and I am beyond grateful!) Heck, in 2005, a young man emailed me after a friend told him we should talk because would get along really well, a few emails later I ended up calling him and that young man is now my husband! (There’s obviously more to that story, but you get the point!)
All this to say, when people come together for a similar purpose, there is no telling what can happen. Maybe you’ll leave knowing someone who will support your health journey every step of the way or maybe not – we won’t know until we say hello. 🙂
