Day 51, 52 & 53: Holiday Meal Prep

Day 51, 52 & 53: Holiday Meal Prep

Daily Focus: Create a Meal Plan, go grocery shopping and make the food you need to for your holiday plans. (15 points) Share a picture of one of the dishes you make this weekend with the Worthwild 90 Day Healthy Habit Squad for 10 extra credit points.

It’s holiday season y’all! Some of us are traveling this weekend already and some of us hosting our families. Either way, there is lots to do; our standard Friday – plan, Saturday – shop, and Sunday – cook, may not work for everyone. Therefor, we are going to combine those challenges to cover the entire weekend, making it a bit more flexible to your personal schedule.

The last few days we have been working on our holiday mindset and how we will treat the holidays regarding our health routine and how we will adapt it to the holiday season (or adapt the holiday season to the routine). Today, I want you to write out a meal plan that helps you organize the meals around your holiday celebrations – keeping that mindset in mind. This meal plan should include the meals outside of your festive meals*, and can also include the meals, snacks and appetizers you need to make to contribute to your celebration.

*I would highly recommend including more protein and veggies than normal in the meals surrounding your holiday festivities to balance the higher fat and carbohydrate ratios in those scrumptious treats. Also drink lots and lots of water!

This may mean writing out what you need to make, creating your grocery list and also scheduling multiple cooking sessions.
